Hello world!
We are safe and sound in Russia. Not going to lie, this has been an experience far beyond what we were expecting and something we will surely never forget. We would like to thank our bud Nik in Saint Petersburg for putting us up the first night, everyone should check out his band Scarlett Pills – they are rad. Shout outs also go to Tim, Dima, Dima No Decline and the boys in Stop The Car and Rooftops for helping us out along the way so far.

We played Saint Petersburg at a full band show the first night and an acoustic show the second night. Both shows were beyond our expectations. The third show is Petrozavodsk was seriously kick ass… we didn’t know what to expect when we pulled into a small Russian town such as this but we had a really great time and some delightful pizza afterwards.

Our fourth “show” was quite the experience… the ride from Petrozavodsk to Vologda was supposed to be a 6 hour journey… a measly drop in the bucket for us road hardened American touring machines… okay maybe we all love sleep, wifi and WaWa gas stations but Still… the ride turned into a 15 hour ride through the worst backroads ever… like pot holes for days… it was unreal… and on one of the times I fell asleep, I woke up and we were on a ferry boat… i didn’t even ask…

We made it to the show at 10pm (3 hours after doors opened) and to our delight and surprise there was still 250 kids hanging out front so we played an impromptu acoustic show our the side of the van with classical guitars. Not the ideal situation but fun non the less and thanks to all who took part with us.

We’re now hanging in Moscow catching up on sleep before we go to tonights show. Thanks for checking in!

xoxo – Justin
